The Minister of education and science of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych said that in 2018 the external independent testing (EIT) for admission to the master’s degree will be introduced for the specialty “International law” and in foreign languages for humanitarian specialties.

“Next year we are going to introduce external independent evaluation, not only on Law but also on “International law,” the Minister told reporters after visiting the testing on Thursday in Kiev.

At the same time, in 2018 it is planned to implement a pilot project of external testing in foreign languages for admission to graduate school in the Humanities.

To participate in the pilot project educational institutions will be able, on a voluntary basis.

Testing for admission to magistracy on the specialty “Law” in 2017 checked 16.9 million people.

The Minister stressed that the competition for funded places is high, as in “Right” in 2017 allocated 2,35 thousand places .

As part of the test applicants must pass the foreign languages, but a few hundred of them will not do it, as have international certificates confirming knowledge of foreign languages.

All 75 items in the test.

“We hope to get really reliable results, which is very important for us, because we will be able to assess the level of training of our bachelors,” said L. Hrynevych.

She added that many universities have specialty “Law”, but the level of training is different.

Director of the Ukrainian center for educational quality assessment Vadim Karangi said that the test development was funded by partner organizations, and the value of its holding amounts to 160-170 UAH per person.
