A native of the security service of Lukashenka Paul Stepanov was appointed General Director of “Chizhovka-Arena”, informs the website of the institution.

“Chizhovka-arena” was beheaded from the beginning of October 2019. It happened because its former General Director Alexey Prokopovich appointed to steer the “Minsk-Arena”. At the time of the sports Ministry had not yet sent to the Minsk city Executive Committee no candidates on “Chizhovka”.

And after a month and a half order of the Minister of sport the General Director of “Chizhovka-Arena” it is appointed 55-year-old Pavel Stepanov.

He was born in Sambir, Lviv region of Ukraine. In 1986 he graduated from the Kamianets-Podilskyi higher military engineering command school named after Marshal of engineering troops Kharchenko.

From 1986 to 2018 served in many command positions in the Armed forces of the USSR and Belarus, in the Belarusian “Diamond” and Lukashenko’s security service.

After retirement he worked as a head of technical management tools, security Fund “Directorate of the II European games in 2019”.

Note that the current Minister of sports Sergey Kovalchuk was also the employee of security service of Lukashenko. As Minister he has held since March 2018.

We will remind, “Chizhovka-arena” was built for the world hockey championship in 2014 and has a capacity of 8.8 thousand spectators. It holds home matches of the hockey club “Yunost-Minsk”, plus there are concerts and other activities.
