Ad hoc working group shall check the observance of fire safety rules in schools on the coast of Odessa, reported the press service of the Odessa city Council.

This decision was taken during an extraordinary meeting of the Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergency situations of the Executive Committee of the Odessa city Council in connection with a series of fires in the past month and a half in catering establishments and public places located on the coast.

The group will include representatives of the state service for emergency situations of Ukraine, the National police, the relevant services of the Odessa city Council deputies.

Also during the meeting it was decided to consider the possibility of establishing additional fire hydrants and more intake of water by the specialized machinery of the SSES in the coastal zone of the city.

As reported, from the beginning of the holiday season in Odessa was a series of fires that severely damaged or completely destroyed entertainment. Over the past week, these fires occurred three: July 25, a fire destroyed the restaurant “the farm” near the beach “Langeron”, the night of July 30 was destroyed the night club “the Beach” on the coast near the 13th article of the Big Fountain, and in the afternoon on July 31 in Arcadia Odessa there was a fire at the pizzeria.

Main Department of civil service on emergency situations in Odessa region said that all these incidents are violations of fire safety regulations.

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Odessa discuss that fires can be associated with the attempt of one of the local business groups with assets in commercial, real estate and media to strengthen control over the entertainment and restaurant business in Odessa.
