News of Ukraine: the Heads of missions of EU, US and NATO in Ukraine has prepared a letter with the assessment of the final version of the bill on national security.

The heads of missions of EU, USA and NATO in Ukraine was given a rating gained for the second reading of the bill on national security, said Secretary of the parliamentary Committee on national security and defence Ivan Vinnik.

“Indeed, this is the letter-opinion on the draft law submitted by the President of Ukraine, on national security. It was signed by U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, Ambassador of the EU to Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli and Ambassador of NATO in Ukraine Alexander Vinnik and head of the Advisory mission on the reform of the Ukrainian legislation Linkevicius” he said in the program “Svoboda words” on ICTV .

“The 15th day following the meeting, we eliminated observations on nine areas that were raised by our Western partners. We are talking about strengthening public control over the security sector and defence, of strengthening democratic civil control over military organization and law enforcement agencies, intelligence agencies. In particular we are talking about the strengthening of parliamentary powers regarding the control of the security sector, a clear distinction between the security forces and defence forces,” – said the MP.
