Agro-industrial holding Astarta, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, the beginning of spring field works and to date has spent fertilizing of winter crops on 40% of the area.

According to a press release of the holding, with the main crops in the rotation remain wheat, sugar beets, corn, soy.

The company has about 54 thousand hectares of winter crops are in good condition.

“Sugar beet crops remain at the same level as last year, the area under maize and sunflower it is planned to expand”, – said the press service.

In addition, the company plans to 2018 – intensifying the activities of the subsidiary “Astarta-Selektsiya”, specializing in projects for seed production of wheat and soybeans, field research, seed and soil laboratories.

In preparation for the upcoming season in sugar factories “Astarte” are scheduled repairs of equipment and facilities, the gradual implementation of investment projects . Large investments in this segment focused on the construction of a new warehouse for bulk storage of sugar (Narkevychi sugar factory), the establishment of a system of wastewater treatment plants (between a Globinsky sugar factory, bio-energy complex and cooperativism Globinsky plant), installation of new Compresso.
