TASS-FILE. 14 July 2017 in one of the hotels in Hurghada in Egypt for the criminal offense at tourists killed two citizens of Germany. According to the Egyptian interior Ministry, another four people, including citizens of the Czech Republic, Armenia, and Russia, were injured.

The fourth explosion occurred in the town of Nuweiba South of Taba. The responsibility for the explosions was taken by the terrorist group “al-gamaa al-Islamiyya and Jamaat al-Tawhid al-Islami”.

July 23, 2005 Sharm El-Sheikh as a result of three explosions killed, according to various estimates, from 64 to 88 people, injured about 150 people. Among the victims were Britons, Dutch, Qataris, Kuwaitis and Egyptians. Among the victims were citizens of the United States, Russian and Ukrainian. The first explosion occurred in the market, the second and the third near hotels Hotel Moevenpick and Ghazala Gardens in the Central area of Naama Bay. Responsibility for the attack took on the extremist grouping “brigades of Martyr Abdullah Azzam in Egypt and Syria,” “brigades of martyrs of Sinai” and “At-Tauhid Val-Jihad in Egypt.”

24 April 2006 in the resort town of Dahab as a result of explosions of suicide bombers in the market place, the Nelson restaurant and café Aladdin killed 23 people, including one Russian and five foreigners. Injured about 80 people – two Russian citizens and tourists from the UK, Denmark, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Australia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, France, and Switzerland. Egyptian authorities blamed the bombing terrorist group “Jamaat al-Tauhid Val – Jihad”.

February 22, 2009 in an explosion in Cairo at the entrance to the market of Khan-El-Khalili Bazaar killed 17-year-old tourist from France, 24 people were injured, 17 of them French citizens, three citizens of Saudi Arabia and three Egyptians.

February 16, 2014 near the town of Taba in the Sinai Peninsula on the border with Israel a suicide bomber blew up a bus carrying tourists from South Korea. Killed three tourists and the driver of the bus, another 14 people were injured. The responsibility taken by the local terrorist group “Ansar Beit al-Maqdis”, and subsequently sworn allegiance banned in Russia grouping “Islamic state” (IG).

8 January 2016 in Hurghada was an attack on foreign tourists. Three citizens of Austria and Sweden, were injured in the attack on the hotel Bella Vista. Both the attackers were armed with knives, one of them shot. Responsibility was taken by the group ISIS.
