Scientists will be awarded for the development of cryoelectron microscopy to determine the structure of molecules with high resolution in solution.

The Nobel prize in chemistry this year was awarded to the Swiss Jacques Debuchy, American Joachim Frank and representative Richard Henderson, announced the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. This was reported on the official website of the award.

As it became known, scientists were awarded for the development cryoelectron microscopy to determine the structure of molecules with high resolution in solution.

Last year the award in this area was awarded to the Frenchman Jean-Pierre Sauvage, citizen of the United States Scot Fraser Stoddart and the Dutch scientist Bernard Feringe for the design and synthesis of molecular machines .

The award ceremony will be held in Stockholm on 10 December, the day of the death of the founder of the awards — the Swedish entrepreneur and inventor Alfred Nobel (1833-1896).

We will remind, the Nobel prize in physics for 2017 was awarded to Rainer Weiss, Barry Barish, and Pile thorn – creators of the international collaboration LIGO, which first caught a gravitational wave.
