MOSCOW, December 26. /Offset. TASS Artem Kuznetsov/. The Russian team Alexander Loginov and Irina Starykh had appealed to the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne for the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which does not allow them to receive an invitation to participate in the Olympic games in South Korea’s Pyeongchang. IOC Executive Committee meeting on 5 December decided that it will not consider individual applications for participation in the Olympic games the Russian athletes, who had previously been found guilty of violating anti-doping rules. Logins and Old fall under these criteria, as both had previously served a disqualification.

The IOC banned the Russians to compete at the Olympic games in 2018 under the flag of the country, but was given the opportunity to go to South Korea pure athletes who will enter the competition under the Olympic flag.
The Olympics will be held from 9 to 25 February.
