TASS-FILE. August 28, 2017 Daniela Lipnitskaya, the mother of the Olympic champion Yulia Lipnitsky said that her daughter has finished sports career. According to her, Yulia from January to April this year, was undergoing treatment for anorexia in one of the European clinics and on returning home informed the Federation of figure skating Russia on the decision to finish his career. In turn, the organization’s President Alexander Gorshkov said that the documents about his decision Lipnitskaya has not yet provided.

Yulia Vyacheslavovna Lipnitskaya was born on 5 June 1998 in Yekaterinburg. She was raised by her mother, Daniela Lipnitskaya, who gave daughter his name.

In 2002, Yulia Lipnitskaya began skating in Yekaterinburg detsko-youthful sports school “locomotive”. Specialize in single skating. Her first coach was Elena Levkovets .

In 2009 together with his mother moved to Moscow, where she continued her figure skating classes in the Centre of sports and education “Sambo-70” under the guidance of coach Eteri Tutberidze.

In December 2011 in Quebec city (Canada) won the Grand Prix final in figure skating among juniors of the 2011-2012 season.

In February 2012, became the champion of Russia among juniors. In the same year in Minsk (Belarus) took the first place at the world championship among juniors. In 2013 in Milan (Italy) won the silver medal at the same competition, losing only to compatriot Elena Radionova.

In December 2013, in Fukuoka (Japan) took second place in the Grand Prix final figure skating season 2013-2014. The competition was won by Japanese Mao Assad.

17 Jan 2014 in Budapest (Hungary) Yulia Lipnitskaya won the European championship on figure skating.

On 9 February 2014 in the Russian team won at the XXII winter Olympic games in Sochi (Krasnodar Krai) in the team competition in figure skating. Lipnitskaya appeared at the Games with an arbitrary program, staged by Ilya Averbuch on the music from the Steven Spielberg film “Schindler’s List”. She became the youngest Russian to have won the award of the higher test at the winter Olympics: at the time of speaking the skater was 15 years and 249 days. Lipnitskaya has beaten the achievement of Ekaterina Gordeeva, who became the champion of the Games-1988 in calgary (Canada) in pairs skating with Sergei Grinkov. At the time of winning Gordeeva was 16 years 268 days.

March 29, 2014 in Saitama (Japan) became silver medalist of the world figure skating Championships, losing only to Mao Asada.

In November 2015 Julia Lipnitsky left the band Eteri Tutberidze, and then began to train under Alexei Urmanov, having moved from Moscow to Sochi. However, in December of the same year, in the championship of Russia, became only the seventh and entered the national team at the European championship in 2016 as a spare.

In December 2016 skater missed the Russian championship due to injury of the hip received from a fall on the slippery sidewalk.
