SAINT PETERSBURG, July 17. /TASS/. Brewing company “Baltika” started to export to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. About it reports on Monday a press-service of the company.
“Market development it was decided to start with the capital – Kinshasa, with a population of about 15 million people. Soft drink Baltika 0 grain will soon be available in stores popular retailer chains Shoprite, Extra Plus and Kin Mart, a small retail at the gas stations and specialized wholesale markets. The container with the first batch of product with a volume of 10 thousand liters already departed from port of St. Petersburg”, – stated in the message.
Baltika has 10 years of supplying products to Africa, the shipments to the continent are 10% of sales in foreign countries. By far the largest export destination for companies in Africa is Tanzania.
Carlsberg Group is Danish brewing company founded in 1847 . “Baltika”, part of Carlsberg, in addition to the eight plants in Russia, has one plant in Azerbaijan, two own malt house in Tula and Yaroslavl, and also develops its own agricultural project.
The company in 2015 has closed two plants in Chelyabinsk and Krasnoyarsk and cut 560 employees. The total capacity of the remaining plants is 40 million hectoliters per year.
