Today, April 12, Christians of the Western rite, in particular the faithful of the Catholic Church, celebrate Easter.
This day to praise the victory of the Savior Jesus Christ over darkness. A great Resurrection of the Lord is a symbol of His victory over death.
Holiday traditions
From open sources
Tradition is the blessing of food for the holiday table: bread (baking) – in memory of the bread that Jesus fed the multitudes in the desert; meat – in memory of the Passover lamb, which Jesus was consumed during the Passover meal with his disciples in the upper Room; of eggs, which symbolize new life.
In the English-speaking Catholic countries, and in Germany it is quite common a character like the Easter Bunny, who brings the good kids colored eggs, candy and other delicious things.
