The decision of the Suvorovsky district court of Odessa on special confiscation in favor of the state property of the Odessa refinery (refinery) entered into force, reported the press Secretary of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Larisa Sargan.

“Today the Appellate court of Odessa region refused to open appeal proceedings on the complaints of representatives of PJSC “Odessa oil refinery”, LLC “Energy and gas Ukraine” and representatives are directly Sergey Kurchenko. Thus, 21.07.2017 entered into force the decision of the Suvorovsky district court of Odessa on special confiscation in favor of the state all property of the Odessa refinery and the limited liability company”, – she wrote on the page in Facebook on Friday.

According to L . garfish, according to the court, in favor of the state confiscated non-production facilities and administrative buildings with a total area of more than 38 thousand sq m, as well as land area of 77 hectares and installing to support the activities of the plant.

Estimated value of the confiscated property exceeds $200 million (more than RS 5 billion), said the press Secretary of the Prosecutor General.

As reported, in June of Suvorovsky district court of Odessa adopted the decision on the special confiscation of the integral property complex (CEC) of the Odessa oil refinery belonging to the group “VETEK” Sergey Kurchenko.

“Under the deal with the consequence of the district court of Odessa sentenced on special confiscation CEC Odessa refinery as a weapon of crime a criminal organization Kurchenko. The plant became the property of the state represented by the Cabinet of Ministers,” wrote Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko’s Facebook page on Friday.

Russian company LUKOIL has acquired shares of JSC “Odessa oil refinery” for 25,95% non-profit contests in 1999 to 27.27 per million, and then increased its stake to 97%.

The design capacity for the processing of raw materials amounts to 2.8 million tonnes per year. In August 2005 the Odessa refinery was shut down for reconstruction and resumed only in April 2008, but then was again halted in October 2010 due to the economic situation in the oil market in Ukraine, as well as changes in the supply of oil.

In 2013 the Odessa oil refinery from LUKOIL bought group “VETEK” Sergey Kurchenko, who is wanted by Ukrainian law enforcement officers. Later it was reported the transfer of “VETEK” enterprise in pledge of JSC “Bank VTB” (Russia). Normal operation of the enterprise and has not been restored, it is currently idle.
