The field of cybersecurity is one of the most important priorities of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine, said the NSDC Secretary Alex Danilov during a meeting with a delegation of members of the U.S. Senate.
“In the next five to ten years cyber weapons will become the number one in the world, even nuclear weapons will depart on the second plan”, – quotes the words of Danilova, the press service of the NSDC.
In this regard, Danilov called cyber security a key component of national security. In this context, the NSDC Secretary informed about the work on the new cybersecurity Strategy, and noted that in the Apparatus of the national security Council continues work on the development of the National coordinating centre for cyber security (NCCC). It is noted that NCCK will interact with similar centres in the partner countries.
In turn, the members of the American delegation noted that Ukraine is fighting back against cyber attacks, and recalled the support of Ukraine in Congress and the Senate, as evidenced by the allocation of $300 million in military assistance and imposition of sanctions against the Russian energy sector.
The parties noted that cyber attacks are “huge challenges” in Ukraine and USA shared their experience in prevention and containment, and emphasized the importance and prospects of bilateral cooperation in combating cyber incidents.
