Secretary of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine Alexander danyluk, acting Chairman of the security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, the specialists of the Apparatus of the national security Council and Deputy Director of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ruslan riaboshapka has held a meeting with representatives of the International Advisory group (IAG), which discussed security issues, in particular reform of the SBU

According to the apparatus of the national security Council on Tuesday, members of the IAG, which includes representatives of the European Union, the consultative EU mission (EUAM), NATO and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, expressed support for the position of the Ukrainian authorities about the need for urgent reform of the SBU compliance with the phasing of this process.

The NSDC Secretary stressed that the working group is constantly working on bills that would regulate the process of reforming the law enforcement bodies of Ukraine. “During the next meeting of the expert group will discuss the concept of reforming of SBU and corresponding legislative developments,” he said.

Danyluk also said that reform of the SBU is a requirement of the law of Ukraine “On national security”, whose main purpose is to strengthen the key functions of security, in particular counter-intelligence. “It’s a team effort. We act as one team on behalf of the President of Ukraine”, – he stressed.
