MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. A failure in the engine upper stage “Fregat” has occurred before the separation of the spacecraft MKA-N production company Dauria Aerospace, not after, according to Roscosmos. This was announced on Monday, the TASS press-Secretary of the Dauria Aerospace Vitaly Egorov.

Launched July 14, 2017 from the Baikonur cosmodrome rocket “Soyuz-2.1 a” with the upper stage “Fregat” brought into orbit the spacecraft “kanopus-V-IK” and 72 small satellites. In August it became known that satellites, MKA-N’t got in touch. In October, adopted a decision on the termination of their flight tests, it was also recommended to exclude machines from the orbital grouping. Roskosmos earlier said that the failure of the small motor launch ДТ7 production “Khimmash them. A. M. Isayev” (branch of the Center. M. V. Khrunichev) occurred in 11440-th second of flight, i.e ., after separation of the device, which, according to the state Corporation, was already more than 1.5 km from the upper stage “Fregat”, when there is a failure in his engine.

“According to the report of JSC “NPO Lavochkin”, deviations in work of a small engine to run ДТ7, which was located just 30 cm from the placed satellites MKA-N, was observed from 5875 th of a second (that is, before the separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage, which began in the second 9194 – approx. TASS). Since that time – after the third engine sensor values show the deviation of the temperature of the catalytic reactor at 100 degrees lower than on other engines of this type,” – said the press-Secretary of Dauria Aerospace.

According to him, 8580 seconds (for about 600 seconds before the separation of the spacecraft MKA-N), after the fourth turn on the engine the difference with other similar engines is 350 degrees. “At this stage there is an increase in fuel consumption on the next, duplicating the engine DT5, that is, the engine efficiency falls ДТ7 and control system uses redundant. On 11440-th second temperature sensor begins an uncontrolled fall on 11710 seconds reaches zero, since that time, the engine is completely inoperative and its purpose backs DT5”, he added.

The Russian space Agency and NPO. Lavochkin TASS has not yet been available for comment, Khimmash not comment on this information.

Other details of the launch

Egorov said that the separation of the group of 19 small satellites of CubeSat standard at an altitude of 600 km, including satellites, MKA-N and “lighthouse” began at 9194-th second of the flight.

“According to the report of JSC “NPO Lavochkin”, stocks of fuel of small engines the upper stage “Fregat” showed a fuel consumption of 2.49 kg (57,49 kg instead of 55 kg). It’s hard to tell exactly how the malfunction of this engine could affect the operation of the MCA-N and other satellites. However, the obvious fact that abnormal operation of the engine ДТ7 began before the separation of the satellites, manufactured by Dauria Aerospace,” he said.

The press Secretary also noted that despite the absence of claims from foreign customers for launch 14 July 2017, a technical problem arose not only from Russian satellites, MKA-N and “lighthouse”. “So, the two spacecraft from companies Spire Global and Planet was messed up orbit. This is possible only if you have incorrectly connected the cables during Assembly of the space head part of the rocket. Analysis of the orbits of the remaining 47 satellites of the Planet showed that at least three satellites had control from the first weeks of flight,” – said Egorov.
