On the anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant we think of those emergency workers who died first.

These “kamikaze” was in the time of the accident at Chernobyl in 1986, and during the tragedy, which happened 25 years at Japanese plant “Fukushima-1”.

Some of them were at the stations during accidents, some after the accident went to the epicenter to extinguish fires and deal with other consequences.

Rather, they understood (or tried not to think) that the chances of survival are minimal. But someone would need to start a fight, thereby giving the chance to save more lives.

“Kamikaze” at Chernobyl

The first liquidators were the employees of the station. They were engaged in a shutdown, debris removal, elimination of fires on the apparatus and other works directly in the reactor and turbine halls and other premises of the emergency unit.
