TASS, 8 Feb. Soviet and Belarusian actor Gennady Garbuk died on 84-m to year of life. This was reported Wednesday on the website of the Minsk National academic theatre of Yanka Kupala.

“National academic theatre of Yanka Kupala deeply saddened by the loss of an outstanding artist and expresses condolences to his family and friends,” the message reads.

Farewell to the actor will be held February 9 at the theater. Artist will be buried at the Eastern cemetery in Minsk.

Gennady Garbuk was born in 1934. In the theatre of Yanka Kupala Garbuk worked since 1962. In addition to theatrical productions, Garbuk starred in several movies, including “Sign of misfortune” (1986), “White dew” (1983), “swamp People” (1981) and others .

In 1980 he received the title of people’s artist of Belarus. As noted in the message on the theatre’s website, the last time gurbuk went on stage in may 2017, he played in the show “swamp People”.
