MOSCOW, July 8. /TASS/. Writer, journalist, former Chairman of the Union of writers of Russia Valery Ganichev has died on 85-m to year of life. On that Sunday reported on the website of the Union of writers of Russia.

“Today, on 85-m to year of life died Valery Ganichev. We Express our deep condolences to the family and friends of Valery Nikolaevich”, – stated in the message.

Ganichev known for his novels “Admiral Ushakov”, “Ross invincible.” In 1978-1980, he was the chief editor of the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” publications “Roman-Gazeta” (1981-2001), “Roman-journal. XXI century” (1998). He was Chairman of the Union of writers of Russia (1994-2018).

As reported by the Secretariat of the Union of writers of Russia, the place and time of funeral will be announced later .
