MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The trade turnover between Russia and Turkey may reach $100 billion if Moscow will lift the economic restrictions of Ankara. This opinion was expressed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a press conference after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We expect that Russia would completely eliminate the economic constraints that act against our country. Then there is the probability to reach a trade turnover of $100 billion,” he said.

From 1 January 2016 at the background of aggravation of political relations, Russia imposed a ban on the import of a whole list of agricultural products from Turkey. The list includes oranges, tangerines, grapes, apples, pears, apricots, peaches and nectarines, plums, strawberries . In addition, under the restrictions were vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, cauliflower and broccoli, onion, and frozen cuts and offal of turkeys and chickens, salt and chewing gum.

In October 2016, Russia partially lifted the ban on Turkish agricultural products and allowed the import of some fruits (stone and citrus).
