Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told about his recent conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed the process of settlement of the armed conflict in Syria.
In an interview with Reuters, Erdogan reiterated that Russia will not support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as much as it was until recently, according to “Russian conversation”.
According to Erdogan, Putin approached him with a request in the right way to understand the Russian presence in Syria and support of the current ruling forces.
“I am not a supporter of Assad, I’m not his lawyer. That said, I Putin” – said the Turkish leader.
The Turkish leader also noted that Turkey has already determined its stance against Bashar al-Assad, considering that the process of political settlement of the conflict can be implemented only after addition of powers .
As previously reported, “Russian conversation” after the missile attack by the United States on the Syrian military base, Ankara turned to a proposal to Moscow to stop supporting Bashar al-Assad, in parallel supporting the US aggression against Syria.
