After a professional career Roger Shappo has performed at the Amateur level.
The former defender of the national team of Switzerland hockey Roger Shappo died at the age of 79 years. He was diagnosed with coronavirus infection, reported on the official website of the International ice hockey Federation, RBC.
“Shappo was put in the hospital of the municipality of Ren in the period from 20 to 24 March, he later returned home. However, on 1 April, the situation worsened, he was taken to the NICU and hooked up to the ventilator,” — said the publication.
Shappo has played for team Switzerland 101 match. He played at the Olympic games in 1964 in Tokyo, and also at three world Championships (1959, 1962, 1972). After completion of professional career he played at the Amateur level.
