MOSCOW, December 16. /Offset. TASS Mikhail Lichkov/. Third place in the pursuit race at the stage of the biathlon world Cup in the French Annecy, add the psychological confidence to Russia’s Anton Shipulin before the Olympic games in 2018. This opinion TASS expressed two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasilyev.

The athlete overcame the 12.5 miles in 34 minutes 03,2 seconds, with one penalty in four shooting. The first was the Norwegian Johannes Bø (32.52,7; 0 misses), second – Frenchman Martin Fourcade (delay 1 minute 1.4 seconds; 2 misses).

“First, any medal gives positive emotions, and secondly, this medal will give additional confidence Shipulin before the Olympic games in Pyeongchang. Obviously, Anton is gaining momentum from race to race, which positively affects the shooting on the move”, – said Vasilyev.

Vasilyev also noted another Russian Alexander Loginov, who finished fourth with one penalty, 1 minute 10.7 seconds . “Praise Sasha Loginov for a great race, felt that the guy grew up a lot and is in great shape. Also it is felt that the height is perfect for him, as for BAA. You could say they are working miracles here, and it’s very nice,” – said Vasilyev.

30-year-old Shipulin brought to the Russian team’s first medal at the world Cup in 18 races this season. He is the Olympic champion 2014 and world champion in 2017 in relay 4×7,5 km, also on account of his bronze in the 2010 Games in the relay.
