News of Ukraine: OSCE recorded more than 10 thousand cases of ceasefire violations in the Donbas from the beginning of the year.
Observers Special monitoring mission (SMM) has counted more than 10 thousand violations of the regime of turning fire on the line of contact in Donbas since the beginning of 2018, reported the first Deputy head of SMM OSCE in Ukraine Alexander hug.
“From 1 January to 23 March the SMM observed more than 10 100 violations of the cease-fire . Including 1100 cases of use of weapons from the line of contact in Luhansk region, of which 135 cases of use of jet systems of volley fire”, – said Alexander hug Tuesday to journalists.
He noted that “the most affected area from the fighting is the area Popasnaya and Pervomaisk, which accounts for about 75% of all violations of the cease-fire.”
Observers on a regular basis fixed weapons placed in violation of the withdrawal lines on both sides of the line of contact in Donbas.
“During the same period (1 January-23 March), the SMM observed more than 80 pieces of weapons placed in violation of the agreed withdrawal lines on both sides of the line of contact,” said Alexander hug.
“The renewed commitment of the ceasefire is an opportunity to take these weapons, in order to divert forces and resources. This opportunity should not be missed”, – said the Deputy head of the OSCE mission.
