The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has identified a priority the creation of the financial investigation Service (FIS) to identify and prevent crimes against the interests of the state in the financial sector, said the Secretary of the Council for national security and defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr danylyuk.

“The service will have the right to conduct operational-search activities carried out after thorough analytical work,” – said danyluk during a meeting on preparation of draft law “On the financial investigation service”.

As the press service of the NSDC on Monday, the Agency will prevent the Commission of crimes in the financial sector, in particular, to engage in the identification, suppression, disclosure and pre-trial investigation of crimes against the interests of the state in the financial sector and related areas, and to identify system factors that lead to economic crime and the Commission of such offences.

This will contribute, in particular, growth of investment attractiveness of Ukraine, said danyluk.

According to the report, the number of FIU staff should not exceed 3 thousand people. The number of new structures will be determined by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. To ensure transparency in the selection of its employees will set up a special Commission whose members will be representatives of the public, scientific community and foreign partners.

The meeting was attended by Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova, President of the State tax service Sergey Varlamov, Deputy Chairman of the security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Karpenko, representatives of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, people’s deputies of Ukraine and the Cabinet Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine.
