Baltic fleet (BF) is a strategic Association of the Navy of Russia on the Baltic sea. Is part of the Western military district, is the main training and testing base of the Russian Navy.

Russian Baltic fleet
On warships and submarines of the operational-strategic Association of the Navy on the Baltic sea
The flagship of the BF — destroyer “Persistent” (like “Modern” project 956 “Sarych”).
In 2017 the fleet joined the minesweeper “Alexander Obukhov” project 12700, the end of the year expected to reach a small rocket ship and five new support vessels. Continue the replenishment of the aircraft fleet fighter su-30CM. At the marine ranges of the Navy were testing submarines of the project “warszawianka”.
According to open sources, in may 2017, the fleet consisted of 2 diesel submarines and 56 surface ships, including:
- 2 destroyers of the project 956 “Sarych”;
- 2 patrol ships of the far sea zone (frigates) project 11540 “Hawk”;
- 4 patrol ships near sea zone (Corvette) 20380 “guarding”;
- 6 small missile ships;
- 6 small anti-submarine ships;
- 6 missile boats;
- 1 sea trawler;
- 5 base minesweepers;
- 9 inshore minesweepers;
- 4 large landing ships;
- 2 small landing ships on air cushion;
- 9 assault boats (including new boat on the hovercraft type “Dugong” project 21820).
The fleet also includes the connection of auxiliary and search and rescue ships, Naval aviation and units of the air defense Air and space forces, coastal troops, part of logistic support.
