Found a variety of minerals that have formed under the influence of people.
The popular term “anthropocene” an informal geologic time term for the geological era in which human activity played a major role in the ecosystem of the Earth. The term was coined in the 1980s, and is now being reviewed for formal adoption by the scientific world.
The chances of this are significantly increased with the new discovery, which was made by the geologists. Scientists have discovered more than two hundred minerals, the formation of which man has played the most direct role. “Among the more than five thousand minerals of Land there, 208 species that directly or indirectly created by man since the mid-1700s years,” says representing the Carnegie institution of Washington Robert Hayes (Robert Hazen). The study is published in the journal American Mineralogist .
Human traces in the geological record are associated with the industrial revolution, when people began to make artificial connections and substances, exist in nature. A significant role in the onset of the anthropocene played ore mines, or rather, emissions caused by human activity. For centuries there were formed different structures. Scientists drew attention to the deposits left by the person next to factories and power plants. There are a number of other “products” of civilization that influenced the onset of the anthropocene.
The researchers also found highly unusual examples. So, scientists mention mineral tinnunculus in the formation of which he played the role of the excrement of birds, as well as the hot methane, carbon dioxide and other hot gases. Tinnunculus found in the mine of the Russian city of Kopeysk, as well as to the plateau Rasvumchorr (Kola Peninsula).
Earlier, another team of experts proposed to start the countdown of the anthropocene from July 16, 1945, when I first tested a nuclear weapon.
