MOSCOW, July 20. /TASS/. The German rider Pierre Bischoff headed the General classification of ultra road race Red Bull Trans-Siberian Extreme – 2017. The sum of the two stages he showed a time of 20 hours 28 minutes 10 seconds.
Bischoff was the winner of the second stage from Nizhny Novgorod to Kazan, breaking the distance of 383 km in 10 hours 58 minutes and 36 seconds, and also finished in the leading group at the first stage Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod (375).
The winner of last year’s marathon Russian Alexey Shchebelin ranks third in the General classification (20 hours, 28 minutes and 23 seconds). His compatriot Egor Kovalchuk is on the last, eighth place (24 hours and 45 minutes 10 seconds) .
In the women’s classification leader, the representative of the Philippines Shangrila Rendon (30 hours, 52 minutes and 36 seconds), the American Thursday Gervals-a club (31 hours 22 minutes and 55 seconds) was unable to complete the second phase.
Thursday in Kazan started the third stage of the race. Athletes have to drive 693 miles to Perm.
The annual race started on July 17 in Moscow, it consists of 14 stages and finishes on 10 August in Vladivostok. Participants will have to overcome climatic 5 and 7 time zones, over 80 km of climbs and spend more than three weeks in the saddle.
