TASS, September 21. The foreign Ministers of the countries of the so-called big four – Brazil, Germany, India and Japan – held on Wednesday a meeting in the framework of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. Countries confirmed the intention to seek permanent membership in the UN Security Council, the Agency DPA.

“The current composition of the Security Council does not reflect the changed global realities”, – quotes Agency the extract from the final resolution of the meeting. DPA notes that similar requirements countries for decades .
The permanent members of the security Council, with veto power in 1945, became the victorious powers in the Second world war: Britain, China, USSR, USA and France.
Intergovernmental negotiations on the reform of the security Council have been underway for several years, but countries have not yet managed to agree on key issues, including the optimal composition of the UN security Council, the number of its permanent and non-permanent members, as well as the order of use of the veto. Among the most likely candidates for the ranks of permanent members included Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Japan. The last time the security Council was enlarged in 1965 – from 11 to 15 members (5 permanent and 10 non-permanent) .
