The amount of reimbursement of value added tax (VAT) in the first half of 2017 will amount to about UAH 57.9 bn, down 60.4%, or 28.1 billion UAH will exceed the level of the first half of 2016.

This forecast was made acting Director of the Department of taxes and fees from legal entities of the State fiscal service (GFS) Elena Antipova.

At a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday she said that in January-may the reimbursement has amounted to 47.9 billion, with the volume of claims 48.1 billion UAH, including in April-may – 21 billion when bidding 19.8 billion UAH.

E. Antipov stressed that with the launch on 1 April 2017 of the electronic register in April-may, 97% of the reimbursement was carried out according to the results of Desk audits, i.e. within 30 days.

She recalled that under certain circumstances negative value of VAT generated for the period prior to July 1, 2015 or generated by special regime taxpayers – farmers, is documentary check .

According to her, from 15.3 billion UAH of liabilities for refund of VAT on 1 April – launch of the electronic register is not reimbursed only UAH 2.4 bn, including the beginning of the month, this amount decreased by 0.6 billion UAH.

Acting Director of the Department reminded that there is a separate UAH 4.6 bn of disputed debt, which was as of February 1, 2016 and entered into a temporary registry. According to her, of this amount, agreed a debt for which the search mechanism of payment, is 0.4 billion UAH, while the remaining 4.2 billion UAH appealed.
