Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk held a meeting with Federal foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas, which discussed the energy security of the European Union, and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, reports the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The head of Ukrainian government emphasized that Ukraine hopes for full understanding with Germany on the gas pipeline connecting Germany with third countries.

“However, we received alarming signals about the possible exclusion of the “Nord stream-2″ from under the consensus of the EU Directive the German independent regulator. Such developments are considered unacceptable, ” – said the head of government.

Alexey Goncharuk is convinced that “Nord stream-2” is a political, not a business project aimed at strengthening the influence of Russia on European countries.

The Prime Minister also noted that ahead of difficult negotiations on gas transit: “We hope that the German participation in consultations contributing to the continued transit of Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine on reasonable terms and European practices”.

The Prime Minister stressed that Germany is one of the main partners of Ukraine appreciates the extensive assistance provided to our country. He thanked the German party for supporting territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
