The leader of the party “Civic position”, the former Minister of defence of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko says the urgency of convening the meeting of the Council of national security and defense in connection with the decision of the Russian authorities to simplify the issuing of Russian passports to residents of certain regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions (ORDA).
Thus, according to him, this meeting should participate as the current President Petro Poroshenko and won the last presidential election Vladimir Zelensky. “I am convinced that Poroshenko now needs to convene an immediate meeting of the Council, I would recommend – with the invitation to the meeting and the newly elected President Zelensky”, – wrote Anatoly Gritsenko on his page on the social network Facebook.
According to him, the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the simplified certification in ORDO “is a new reality and a new threat to the integrity of Ukraine.” “Openly defiant, provocative actions of the Kremlin reinforce legal/legal position of Ukraine in the eyes of the world, but you and that does not help. Because if Russian passports will receive the majority of our citizens in ORDA, real de-occupation of the territories would become virtually impossible and can be delayed for several decades,” – said A. Gritsenko.
According to the politician, to avoid this dangerous scenario, the national security Council needs to propose a set of actions for the Ukrainian government in close coordination with foreign partners: “Political, legal, diplomatic, information, defense, and most importantly – sanctions actions”, – the politician wrote.
“To stop Putin in his plans and intentions can strong solidarity action by the international community. First of all, the nature of the effect of sanctions against Putin’s inner circle, and if that doesn’t help, the next step – and against Putin personally. And we have to act without delay”, – summed A. Gritsenko.
