Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman said about the need for close cooperation between the State space Agency of Ukraine (GKAU) with the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) to effectively address the challenges of defense.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, on Thursday, the Prime Minister and NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov presented the new head of state space Agency of Ukraine – Pavel Degtyarenko, who won the open competition. “Presenting the head of state space Agency of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman noted that a key task of the new managing Director formulate a strategy for the development of space industry, taking into account the human and technological potential of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

The Prime Minister also called on the state space Agency of Ukraine for close cooperation with the national security Council “to effectively address all challenges in the field of national security and defense.”

According to him, the government is ready to find the resources required for adequate funding of the space industry on “trust and transparency, when each invested hryvnia used effectively.”

“We have the technology, we have the required human resources, serious material and technical base, which requires updates and improvements. We have a good recognized world positions in the space industry, so now we have a reasonable control of the industry, bring it out of crisis phenomena” – said Vladimir Groisman.
