Lake Kezenoi Am

From 5 to 9 July 2017 sailing Federation the Chechen Republic will hold the first regatta in the history of the region Cup on one of them 2017. The competition will be held on the lake at an altitude of 1870 metres above sea level.

Lake kezenoi-Am is located on the border of Chechnya and Dagestan and is considered the jewel of the North Caucasus. Sailing regatta will be held on light and manoeuvrable boats, monotypes SB20. According to the rules of the class each boat will be no more than four members, including the skipper.

Apply for participation can athletes with any sailing experience. At the moment, already registered Amateur and professional crew of riders from Russia, Germany, Croatia, Montenegro and the Czech Republic. It is planned that water will be released to 18 teams .

“Amazing in its beauty lake and mountain peaks in the North Caucasus will impress the athletes and participants from around the world, says Hasan Hajiyev, President of the sailing Federation of the Chechen Republic. — For us it is important that the Russian yachtsmen have discovered a great place for racing, and the inhabitants of the Republic became interested in sailing”.

In addition to sporting events for participants and guests prepared an extensive coastal program: guided tours in the capital of Chechnya, Grozny, and around the lake kezenoi Am, the show program, welcome dinner opening and closing in the best traditions of Caucasian hospitality.

Sailing Federation the Chechen Republic was formed in December 2016. The main goal of the organization is to promote sailing in the North Caucasus and the support of the regional athletes on the Russian and international competitions. The Federation plans for 2017 — the first regatta of the Cup on one of them in 2017, the formation of the programme and calendar of sailing schools and competitions in Chechnya.
