By the end of 2016, China had more than 230 million people over the age of 60.
In China, about seven million seniors are enrolled in the universities of the third age. Such data are published by Chinese Ministry of education, reports the Xinhua news Agency.
In China, there are so-called universities of the third age and some other similar educational institution, specially created for senior citizens. According to the plan of the state Council of the PRC for the development of education for older people in 2016-2020, and 2020 in each city, the County level needs to be at least one University of the third age.
