-The regional Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergency situations in Kharkiv region has recommended to local governments to allow markets before the end of the quarantine.

“To prevent the spread of coronavirus diseases in places of a mass congestion of people to prohibit the operation of markets (food, nonfood, mixed) for the duration of quarantine measures. Recommended measures”, – said the head of Kharkiv regional state administration Alexey Kucher.

“I ask you to consider them, in particular the Kharkiv city Council. We insist that you have collected your city Commission and considered this question. This is very important,” added the Coachman, addressing those present at the meeting, the Deputy mayor Svetlana Gorbunova-Ruban.

Deputy head of Kharkiv regional state administration Taras Shepherd noted that the continued operation of markets can lead to the rapid spread of coronavirus infection in the region.

“People don’t go to Church, but still most of them will try to keep the Easter tradition, they need to visit the traditional markets, shops and all this can lead to a large accumulation in the stores, markets and may facilitate more rapid spread of infection,” said Shepherd.

He also noted that while it is recommended to close the markets before the end of quarantine restrictions (April 24), and in solche of extension is to consider this question again.
