In the Saratov region of Russia military transport aircraft An-26 caught fire during hard landing at the airport, “Balashov”, killing the military.

One soldier was killed and five were injured during the hard landing the aircraft An-26 at the airport of Balashov in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the Department of information and mass communications of the Russian defense Ministry, reports TASS.

“One soldier was killed, five crew members of a helicopter search and rescue teams is delivered in medical institution”, – is spoken in the message.

On Tuesday, may 30, at 05:40 during a training flight at landing approach on airfield Balashov in the Saratov region the plane did not survive the settings lower and went below the glide path (landing angle).

When landing, the plane caught fire. On Board were six crew members .

“Injured military personnel are receiving the necessary medical assistance. According to preliminary information from the scene, the reason could be the failure of one engine”, – is spoken in the message.

“To determine the causes of the scene flew a special Commission of the Ministry of defence,” – said the Russian defense Ministry.
