The bill will include additional sanctions against individuals associated with the program to develop ballistic missiles of Iran.
Representatives of both parties in the us Senate initiated a bill that provides for new sanctions against Iran.
This was announced on Thursday, the American newspaper The Hill.
“As stated by the senators, they believe that tougher sanctions will help to take a tough stance against Iran after a bipartisan level, there was dissatisfaction that the Obama administration has not exerted enough pressure on this country”, – says the publication.
The bill will include additional sanctions against individuals associated with the program to develop ballistic missiles of Iran and to expand the constraints on the organization of “the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps”.
According to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on foreign relations Bob Corker, the new law “will allow the U.S . to regain the initiative against Iran and decisively to respond to the threat with his hand” to ensure national security and the security of the allies of the United States.
At the same time, as the newspaper notes, among the Democrats preserved a note of caution that the strengthening of sanctions against Iran will affect nuclear deal with that country. The same concerns occurred, when at the end of last year, the Senate extended the sanctions that acted against Iran for another ten years.
