In the House of representatives of the US Congress a draft law on countering Russian hostile actions

In the House of representatives of the US Congress mirrored the Senate version of the “Law 2017 on countering Russian hostile actions”, the press center of the Embassy of Ukraine to the USA on Monday night.

“The bill, initiated by the Congressman-Republican Alex Mooney and registered under the number H. R. 1751, aimed in particular at granting binding force of law sanctions imposed by Executive orders of the President of the United States against Russia for cyber-intervention in the us elections of 2016, as well as an attempt of annexation of the Crimea and military operations in the Donbass”, – stated in the message .

The Embassy noted that the important is the position of the document stating that no state Agency should not resort to action or assistance that would recognize, or might be interpreted as recognition de jure or de facto sovereignty of the Russian Federation over Crimea, its airspace or territorial waters.

It was also noted that any alleviation of sanctions against Russia will depend on the acceptance by the government of Russia of Ukraine’s sovereignty over Crimea, as well as from timely, complete, and proven implementation of the Minsk agreements, especially in respect of the restoration of Ukraine’s control over all the country’s Eastern border with Russia in the conflict zone.
