Member of the American Congress Alexander Muni wants to expand the sanctions policy against Russia in connection with its “aggressive actions”, introduced for consideration the bill providing for the introduction of three additional types of sanctions.

The Congressman argues that in view of the increasing threats to cyber security of the USA, the authorities should impose sanctions against all “attackers”, and in the case of Russia, sanctions have become the answer to any “aggressive actions”, reports “Russian conversation”.

The first of the proposed Muni packages of sanctions should affect Russian companies associated with the defense industry and intelligence agencies, allegedly involved in the cyber attacks against the United States .

The second type of sanctions provides for the introduction of economic restrictions against companies producing oil and natural gas, including foreign, seen in the privatization of the Russian energy industry.

In addition, the Congressman proposes to impose sanctions against companies involved in financial crimes and the Ministry of Finance should be a separate group dealing with these issues.

The proposal made by bill Mooney also proposed to complicate the possibility of lifting anti-Russian sanctions imposed after the annexation of Crimea and the war in the Donbass, leaving the Congress in this issue for more powers.

As previously reported, “Russian Dialogue,” U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson finds it necessary to leave in force the anti-Russian sanctions, arguing the lack of progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
