The U.S. Treasury introduced amendments to the sanctions on Russia.

New changes to reduce credit terms for physical and legal persons under U.S. sanctions. About it reports UKRINFORM.

“Managing foreign assets of the Treasury U.S. Department of Treasury released amendments to the Directive 1 (covers the financial sector as amended) And Directive 2 (energy sector – ed.), associated with the Russian-Ukrainian question”, – noted in American Finance.

This clarifies that the amendments made in accordance with the Law “On combating Russian influence in Europe and Eurasia 2017” (CRIEEA).

In particular, according to amendments to the Directive 1 prohibited from carrying out transactions, provide financing or undertake other transactions with defined terms or with capital from companies under sanctions for more than 14 days. Previously this period was limited to 30 days .

In the energy sector according to the amendments of the Directive 2, the credit period is reduced from 90 to 60 days.

The amendments shall enter into force on 28 November 2017.
