The house of representatives of the U.S. Congress supported 404-mA votes the draft law “On cooperation with Ukraine on issues of cybersecurity,” according to the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States on the Facebook page on the night to Thursday.

“The congressmen approved the draft “Law on cooperation with Ukraine on issues of cyber security”, aims to promote active cooperation between Ukraine and USA in the field of cybersecurity in the face of opposition of the Russian hybrid aggression”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that the document envisages assistance to Ukraine in the improvement of cybersecurity strategies, in particular, strengthening the protection of computer networks of public authorities, the reduction of Ukraine’s dependence on Russian information and communication technologies, as well as facilitating Ukraine’s participation in information sharing programs .

The consideration of the bill took place in the presence in the plenary hall of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly. He said: “the bill separately reaffirms the commitment of the United States Charter on strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA”.

Co-authors of the document were also made by members of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus, Congressman-Democrat Brendan Boyle and Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick. The Ministry said that before the entry into force of the bill must be approved also by the Senate and signed by the President of the United States.
