In Ukraine in 2017, registered 1,001 thousand new cases of malignant neoplasms in children, according to the website of the National cancer registry of Ukraine (NKR).

According to the report, the overall incidence of malignant neoplasms in children aged 0-17 years was 15 per 100 thousand population.

In the structure of morbidity of children, the most common were leukemia and malignant neoplasms of the brain (together 46,5% boys and 41.1% girls).

The overall mortality rate from malignant neoplasms was 3.5 per 100 thousand population.

In the structure of mortality the most common were leukemia and malignant tumors of bone (53,1%) in boys and brain (57%) in girls.
