The Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of the Armed forces of the United States Joseph Dunford

Victims of war on the Korean Peninsula can be more than in the Second world war, says a senior US General.

The United States must be prepared for armed conflict with North Korea. This was stated by the Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of the Armed forces of the United States Joseph Dunford, Interfax reported.

Dunford at a security conference in aspen, noted that military action against Pyongyang should not be called “unthinkable”, but that will bring losses, not sravnimy with the Second world war.

“It will be terrible, will lead, unfortunately, to the losses that we have experienced in our lives. I mean that the survivors of the Second world war, had never encountered such victims, who can bring war on the Korean Peninsula,” he said.

The General stressed that it was inconceivable to allow nuclear missiles of the DPRK struck the American territory .

“Poetomu my goal is to use military action to prevent this. I already talked about this with partners, both friends and enemies,” – said the military.

Earlier the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley said at a meeting of the UN security Council that Washington was ready to use all means, including military force, to change the behavior of the DPRK.

On the night of 4 July, North Korea launched a ballistic missile, which is the assurance of Pyongyang, can reach American territory.
