The III international youth educational forum “the Arctic. Made in Russia” was opened in Arkhangelsk. It was attended by 175 delegates from Russia and 14 countries, reported the press service of the government of Pomerania.

“In the Arkhangelsk region came to 150 representatives from different regions of Russia and 25 representatives from 14 countries to develop a strategy for the development of the Arctic and to find their place in it. Students, postgraduates, young scientists and specialists, representing 14 specialties that include professionals in the field of petrochemical industry to physicians and environmentalists. All of them are already associated with the Arctic, studying it, want to tie their future with this unique area”, – stated in the message .

The launch of the educational program of the forum gave the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov, read the lecture on “the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation: to go or to live and develop?”. “The Arctic is a new challenge for Russia and the world. Today it forms the future, requires breakthroughs in technology, environment, energy, social sphere. To accept this challenge, to make the Arctic region for life – a great challenge for young people,” he said at the opening.

According to the head of Pomerania, the regional government intends to attract young professionals to work in the Arctic.

Speakers at the forum will also become the Minister of education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilieva, the Russian transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Deputy Minister of economic development of the Russian Federation Alexander Cybulski, Deputy Minister of Telecom and mass communications of Alexei Volin, the polar Explorer Artur Chilingarov.

Forum delegates will participate in plenary session of the forum “Arctic – territory of dialogue”, which will be held under the chairmanship of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
