BUDAPEST, July 15. /TASS/. Russia’s Maria Polyakova morally supported compatriot Hope Baino during the competition on the diving meter springboard at the world Championships in Budapest. She told reporters after the contest.

Bazhina won the silver medal, gaining a total of five jumps 304,70 points. The winner was Australian Maddison Keeney (314,95), third place went to Italian Elena Bertocci (296,40). Polyakova placed fifth (289,05).

“I’m very happy for Hope because she played a lot and no, she never took to win a medal at the world Championships. After the last try we stood together, she asked to talk to her because I was worried. Indeed, it was very exciting, couldn’t even watch the performances of competitors. There were a lot of emotions,” – said Polyakov.

With his performance, the athlete was satisfied . “Of course, there is room for improvement, but this was the best amount of points I have ever scored, so I’m happy,” she said.

Silver medal Bainai was the second award for the Russian team at the world Cup. Previously a synchronized swimmer Svetlana Kolesnichenko won the technical program of the soloists.

The world championship in water sports will end on July 30.
