The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine demands from the Russian Federation to immediately provide full security of personnel, facilities and property of the Special monitoring mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) in the temporarily occupied territory of Donbass.

“The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine is extremely concerned about the removal of 24 September 2017 the Russian Federation and controlled by fighters of illegal armed groups operating in the temporarily occupied territory of individual regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine (ORDA), protection from facilities of the Special monitoring mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM)”, – reads the statement of the MFA of Ukraine, press service of the Ministry on Tuesday.

In Kiev consider that the decision of Moscow not only as a conscious continuation of the practice of intimidation of observers .

“Undoubtedly, these purposeful steps are intended, among other things, to create additional artificial arguments proposed by Russia and supported by Ukraine and its international partners to the initiative to deploy UN peacekeeping forces for the sole purpose of protection of personnel of the OSCE SMM along the line of differentiation”, – the statement says.

The foreign Ministry stressed that the security of observers of the OSCE SMM during the execution of mandated tasks of the Mission remains one of the key obligations in the context of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, signed under which put and also Russian Federation as a party to the conflict.

“We demand from the Russian Federation to take urgent exhaustive measures to ensure full security of personnel, installations and equipment of SMM OSCE on the temporarily occupied territory ORDO and mission to provide full and unimpeded access to all areas not controlled by the Ukrainian government, including all uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian state border,” – said in a statement the foreign Ministry.

Earlier in the day the Ukrainian side of the Joint center for control and coordination (JCCC) reported that the representatives of the ORDO stopped security advanced patrol bases of SMM OSCE in Gorlovka (not controlled by Ukrainian authorities), in view of what happened and urged the Russian side to JCCC to support the activities of the special mission.
