MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. Russian grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik defeated Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the party of the seventh round of the chess super tournament, which takes place in Stavanger, Norway.

Another Russian chess player Sergey Karjakin lost to Armenian Levon Aronian. The Dutchman Anish Giri beat Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Viswanathan Anand of India played out a draw with the representative of the USA Hikaru Nakamura, the Americans Wesley so and Fabiano Caruana also the winner is not revealed.

In the standings the sole leader left Aronian scored 5 points. Followed by Nakamura (4.5 points), Kramnik, Giri (4), (3,5), Karjakin, Anand, Caruana (3), Vachier-Lagrave, Carlsen (2.5).

All participants of the super tournament in Stavanger, except for Karjakin and Giri, are in the top ten in the world rankings . The prize Fund of the tournament amounts to €249 thousand the Winner will receive €70 million, the runner – up to €40 thousand, the third €25 thousand Tournament takes place in one round and will conclude on June 16.
