TASS, July 18. Russian grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik with the white pieces defeated the pole Jan-Krzysztof Duda in the fourth round of the super tournament in Dortmund, Germany.

Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi drew with the Polish player Radoslaw Wojtaszek. There was also a draw concluded the party Belarusian Vladislav Kovalev and German Georg Meier. The Dutchman Anish Giri beat German Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu.

First place in the table divided Duda, Kramnik, Nepomniachtchi and Kovalev, who scored 2.5 points. Followed by Meyer, Weights (both 2 points), Wojtaszek (1.5) and Nisipeanu (0,5 ).

In the fifth round Kramnik will play against Nepomniachtchi, Duda – Meyer Wojtaszek – Giri, Kovalev – Nisipeanu.

The first chess tournament in Dortmund was held in 1928, but only since 1973, it has become a tradition. In the early 90s, the tournament has reached a new level – become involved top grandmasters and Kramnik eventually became a 10-time winner. In 2014 and 2015 in Dortmund was won by the American Fabiano Caruana in 2016 was won by Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, last year won Wojtaszek.
