MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Authorized under the RF President on the rights of the child Anna Kuznetsova believes that it is impossible to solve the problem of uncontrolled access by minors to the Internet by using bans. This opinion was expressed on air of TV channel “Russia 24”, commenting on the initiative to amend Federal law to prohibit children under 14 years of age to register on social networks without parental consent.
“Always, when we’re talking about some of the alarming signals, the first wish to prohibit something, she said. – In fact, if we look at the problem more broadly, to prohibit – it does not mean to solve, so let’s consider a variety of options, to simplify your task in solving this problem.”
According to Kuznetsova, it is important to provide high-quality dialogue with children, including on the topic of safe behavior on the Internet.
Earlier, Kuznetsova had said that allows for discussion of various measures restricting the ability of children to create accounts in social networks. This statement was made after a number of suggestions on how to limit children access to social networks on the Internet. The reason for this was including the emergence of various online groups and games in social networks, engaging in which children and teenagers do dangerous things even to suicide.
