MOSCOW, August 12. /Offset. TASS Dmitry Rachitsky/. The participants of the hockey tournament at the Olympics 2018 will not lose interest in the competition due to the fact that players from the National hockey League (NHL) will not compete at the Games. This opinion TASS expressed by the forward of CSKA Roman Lyubimov.

In early April, the NHL announced that it will suspend regular season in February of 2018 at the Olympic hockey tournament, while noting that the issue of individual players will be discussed separately. In late may, NHL Commissioner Gary Betmen said that none of the players in the League will not participate in the Games in 2018.

“Everyone wants to participate in the Olympics, only the NHL is not particularly want it. I think that all the teams will arrive in order and do not want to give team Russia the gold medal. Maybe some fans will lose interest in this tournament, but not hockey players. Victory in the Olympic games is one of my main goals, I would also like to win the Gagarin Cup,” – said Lyubimov.

In July, the 25-year-old Lyubimov signed a three-year contract with CSKA. Last season the forward played in the NHL for the Phillies. He spent 47 games in which he scored four goals and made two assists.

Lyubimov is a bronze medalist of the world championship 2016 the Russian team.
